The Opportunity
ATG's client is a premier middle-market private equity firm specializing in control investments across manufacturing, industrial, and consumer sectors. The firm is renowned for its hands-on value creation model, transforming portfolio companies through aggressive operational and financial improvements.
This is a unique boots-on-the-ground role for a high-caliber professional who wants to move beyond traditional analysis and drive real-world transformation at the portfolio company level — partnering directly with C-suite leaders to plan, execute, and track turnaround initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- —Transformation leadership. Lead and support critical financial and operational improvement projects immediately following acquisition.
- —Strategic FP&A. Drive strategic planning, budgeting, and sophisticated financial modeling required to measure value creation.
- —Operational execution. Partner directly with C-suite and finance leaders at portfolio companies to plan, execute, and track key turnaround initiatives.
- —Data-driven insights. Structure complex data analysis to identify key business drivers and draw actionable conclusions for the investment team.
- —Market intelligence. Conduct deep-dive research into industries, companies, and competitors to inform strategic pivots.
- —Executive presentation. Create clear, high-impact presentations and white papers for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Experience & Qualifications
- —Experience. 3–7 years of high-performance experience within a Big 4 accounting/consulting firm or a Fortune 500 corporate strategy or finance group.
- —Technical skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (VBA preferred) and PowerPoint. Tableau or other data visualization experience is a plus.
- —Education. BA/BS with an excellent academic record. Majors in Engineering, Statistics, or Finance are highly regarded.
- —Mindset. Entrepreneurial self-starter with high learning agility — able to pivot quickly between different industries and complex business problems.
- —Communication. Elite interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and earn buy-in from C-level executives.
- —Mobility. Willingness to travel significantly and maintain a consistent presence at portfolio company sites.
