The Opportunity
ATG's client is seeking an experienced ABL professional to oversee a diverse asset-based lending portfolio while also performing field examination work. The role combines two functions that are typically siloed — giving the right candidate exposure to the full lifecycle of an ABL relationship, from collateral verification through portfolio risk monitoring.
The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of asset-based lending mechanics, collateral analysis, and field examination procedures, and is comfortable moving between desk-based portfolio analytics and on-site borrower visits.
Core Responsibilities
- —Portfolio management. Oversee a diverse portfolio of asset-based loans, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with loan agreements. Conduct regular portfolio reviews focused on borrower financial health and risk.
- —Field examination. Perform on-site examinations to assess asset quality, operational practices, and covenant compliance. Verify the existence and condition of inventory, receivables, and other collateral.
- —Risk assessment. Identify and mitigate portfolio risks, recommending remediation strategies. Monitor industry trends and macro conditions that may impact borrower performance or collateral values.
- —Reporting. Prepare detailed performance, risk exposure, and field examination reports for senior management and the investment committee.
- —Collaboration. Work closely with underwriting and credit teams to share portfolio insights and inform renewal, modification, and restructuring decisions.
- —Client interaction. Build and maintain strong borrower relationships, addressing concerns directly and providing guidance on financial management and loan compliance.
- —Process improvement. Continuously refine portfolio management and field examination processes, applying ABL and risk management best practices.
