The Opportunity
ATG's client is a preeminent global authority in asset valuation and monetization, with a Diligence Services platform that empowers institutional lenders, private equity sponsors, and M&A dealmakers to make informed credit and investment decisions.
The role is central to that platform. Associates and Senior Associates execute deep-dive field examinations and collateral analysis across a wide range of industries, transitioning between healthy and distressed environments as deal flow demands. Hybrid working options are available, with preference for candidates based in NYC, Chicago, or Boston.
Core Responsibilities
- —Transaction due diligence. Execute comprehensive examinations of target companies, management teams, and asset bases supporting ABL transactions, PE deals, and M&A activity.
- —Quantitative modeling. Synthesize data into complex financial models. Issue reports on borrowing base determinations, liquidation scenarios, dilution analysis, and industry-specific valuations.
- —Collateral verification. Conduct on-site inspections to verify the quality and performance of collateral — inventory, accounts receivable, machinery, and equipment — securing large-scale debt placements.
- —Operational assessment. Interview client management and document internal controls to evaluate operational effectiveness, quality of earnings, and going-concern status.
- —Risk communication. Advise financial institutions on findings that impact credit risk, purchase price adjustments, and management assertions.
- —Strategic reporting. Author detailed presentations and diligence reports that bridge technical asset analysis and high-level credit decision-making.
Experience & Qualifications
- —Education. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or progress toward certification is highly preferred.
- —Experience. 2–7 years in financial analysis, commercial lending, or public accounting with a focus on audit or transaction advisory.
- —Technical skills. Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency — particularly Excel and PowerPoint — with the ability to manage large datasets and complex modeling tasks.
- —Diligence expertise. Foundational knowledge of GAAP. Strong understanding of field examination and appraisal services in an ABL context.
- —Mobility. Ability to travel 20%+ to client sites across North America for physical inspections and management interviews.
- —Mindset. Detail-oriented professional able to manage multiple project timelines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
